Momma's Christmas Wishlist

12.15.2012

1. Season One of Newsroom: Granted, this is only to purchase the DVD set as a pre-release, but I have been dying to get my hands on the full season of this show. Damn HBO. I would totally be okay with somebody just purchasing me/loaning me the log-on information for HBO on-Demand. Or illegally pirate it forever. DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO.

2. Is Everyone Handing Out Without Me (And Other Concerns) by Mindy Kaling: Okay, so I am kind of obsessed with Mindy Kaling. I never miss an episode of the Mindy Project. You know, on Hulu, the day after it airs. (I don't have cable.) I would prefer this in the Kindle edition, so I could whip out my phone and read it whenever I feel like it. But I could also just carry the actual book around with me like a creep. Either way.

3. Old School on Blu-Ray: So, I purchased a Blu-Ray player this year, but my movie collection is extremely limited. In fact, a majority of Blu-Ray movies I own are my four year olds (i.e. Up, Decpicible Me, The Amazing Spiderman). I do own a few of my favorites like Step Brothers and Wedding Crashers. But I need to add to my collection, and obviously Old School is one of my favorite movies. Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell, yes please. Merry Christmas to me.

4. COMFY SWEATSHIRT!: Hands down, Forever 21+ is my favorite store. Since I am "curvy", it is often impossible to find cute clothes that fit me. At least 75% of my current wardrobe is from this store. And I adore this sweatshirt. It looks incredibly comfortable and would be something I'd throw on with some leggings and boots for my morning classes. Not to mention, it has an inspirational message on it. All and all, I need this sweatshirt.

5. A Wallet that Pops: Right now, my wallet is this miniature thing I bought at...Target (don't judge me, I shop there a lot). It has a mustache on it, and it is so cute. But, let's face it, I need something BIGGER a majority of the time. There is really no place for me to store all my cards nor my cash, so I often find myself losing just about everything...and it isn't fun. So momma needs a bigger wallet. This one caught my eye because 1) it is snake skin and 2) it is aqua! Come on, who can resist that? It also appears functional, which obviously matters, too (though not as much).

6. The coolest nerd glasses: I'm a nerd and tend to think I am a "hipster", too. So I have been dying for a pair of these big, thick-rimmed glasses. I have a pair that are the flashback 80s sunglasses/glasses combo and the sunglasses part flips up, but I really just want a pair of these to put on when I am at home so I can feel smart and sophisticated. Plus, look how cheap they are! Can anybody say stocking-stuffers?

7. Victoria's Secret....slippers?: You know you are a mom when the item you want most from Victoria's Secret is slippers. But I mean, come on...they look so cute and comfy. Much more comfortable than a push-up bra or lace thong. Plus, we all know how much use those items would be getting. I guarantee I'd use these slippers nearly every day. Screw bras and panties.

8. Alt Pillow: Browsing on Etsy, like I typically do, I found this adorable pillow. Since I am also a computer geek/photography geek/Photoshop geek, I need this pillow in my bedroom. I am one of those annoying people who knows all of the alt codes and the shortcuts on computers. I know, I know. It may be annoying, but it comes in handy to me. This pillow would give my room more of a "me" vibe.

9. THE GREATEST GIFT OF ALL - A "Boyfriend": If there is something that I have learned from being a single lady for so very, very long, it is that sleeping alone really, really sucks. Even in my case, where I have been sleeping alone for two years and don't even remember what it feels like to be held, I still know that I am missing something great. And this right here is my chance to have a "boyfriend" without actually having to shave my legs or go on a date or anything like that. It is perfect. I can have a "man" by my side every single night and no longer feel like I am missing out on anything. This is literally the best gift that you could ever get me. Or any single mom. Or any single lady. Ever. Period.

  1. I just recently got cable and it's mainly for my children. I also have subscriptions to Hulu (I LOVE) and Netflix. I may have to check that series out.

I've recently obtained this obsession with sweatshirts. The one you have here is adorable and'll go great with those flats.

    LOL @ #9.

    1. My son never even watches cable lol. He has a Wii and uses Netflix. Which, I feel really weird being able to say since he is only four and the Wii was MY Christmas present a few years ago...the joys of Motherhood, right? We are a Netflix/Hulu/Amazon family, though.

And yes! I am also in this obsession with sweatshirts. I recently got a mustache sweatshirt that says "Pardon My French"...I think? Who knows. It is so comfy.

I am also totally serious about #9. lol

  2. HBO is the shit. Girls and The Newsroom are my obsessions. I have the entire season DVR'ed (and just got Girls on DVD) and I revisit the Newsroom at least once a week to get my Will McAvoy fix. Haha

    1. YES! I have contemplated getting cable SOLELY so I could get HBO. I've probably watched every single YouTube clip of The Newsroom, and I need the entire season. Now. I have also been dying to watch the season of Girls!

Ugh, now I am utterly depressed.
