I am going to graduate from college

I filled out my application for graduation last week. It was totally surreal to be completing a form that will lead to me receiving my college diploma. I am going to graduate from college. Well, fingers crossed that I pass all my classes this semesters and everything else goes my way. (I probably just jinxed myself. Awesome.)

It has been a long, tiresome journey, and I was honestly unsure I would make it through. These past five years have been insane. And yes, I am a super Senior in my fifth year of college.

When I think about Graduation Day, I already start to get overly emotional and teary eyed. I am going to bawl like a baby when I walk across that stage. I can just imagine Oliver clapping as they call my name, and I hope that he remembers that moment forever. I know that I will.

I worked so hard for this. I earned this. It was not something that was just handed to me, and it was definitely not easy. The odds were against me the whole way. Less than two percent of teen moms obtain their college diploma. And for me to actually accomplish what seemed so impossible is a miracle, in my opinion. Whether it took me five years or fifty, I am still damn proud.

I know that I have somewhat been MIA from the blog lately, but expect that to be changing very soon. This blog is becoming a high priority for me, so be ready for many great things. 1. Congrats on graduating! I was also a teen mom (I'm now 29) and will also be graduating college this year. Sometimes I feel so old to barely be graduating, but this has always been a dream of mine and it's finally happening.
Anyway, I really enjoy your blog.:)

    1. Thank you! I think any teen mom graduating college is a HUGE deal, no matter what their age :) so super congrats to you, too! And thank you!

  2. I know you don't know me and it may mean nothing to you to know that someone in cyber-land read your post, but I did. And the first thing I thought was for a teen mom you have more sense then some "grown women" having babies. I'm so proud of your accomplishments and dedication to your son. I wasn't a teen mom so I do not know the challenges you faced. Instead I went the full-time working Sailor mom route and am currently finishing my degree. Keep your sights on the end goal and continue to motivate the people around you.

    1. Thank you so much! Of course it means something, to me at least! I really appreciate the support and kind words from wonderful people like yourself! Again, thank you :)
